47 jim finigan

Type 3 variety on 1959 Topps 47 Jim Finigan can be found in the portrait on Finigan’s chin.  Some variations of the cars have a spot of black, approximately 1mm in diameter.  The spot probably corresponds to the dot in the “i” of “Jim” in the autograph.  This card can be found with and without the dotted “i”.  Note that under close examination there is a small amount of black visible on the no dot card.  The variation is similar to the one observed on 5 Dick Donovan.  A survey of cards on eBay reveals that the no-dotted i variation is present on approximately 35% of cards and that the dotted i variation is present on approximately 65% of cards.
